Entomology and Plant Pathology

Dr. Scott Stewart, Associate Professor/Cotton IPM Specialist

Extension Work

Dr. Stewart serves as the cotton extension entomologist at The University of Tennessee in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology in Jackson, TN. Cotton producers and agricultural professionals are the primary clientele of his program. The majority of his time is spent developing educational materials and conducting applied research and demonstration programs concerning best management practices for cotton insect control. Dr. Stewart also has limited responsibilities related to extension entomology programs for soybean and other row crops. Common activities include writing publications, presenting educational programs, preparing articles for newspapers and magazines, and troubleshooting on-farm insect control problems.
