448 Taxonomy of Adult Insects (3) An introduction to the classification, evolution, biodiversity, and distribution of insects and related arthropods. Lectures on theory and practice of insect systematics and major features of insect ecology and evolution. Laboratory practice on methods of collection, preservation, and study of insects, with emphasis on order- and family-level identification of adults.An insect collection comprised of 15 orders and 100 families is required. Prereq. EPP 321 (Economic Entomology) or consent of instructor. One lecture and two labs per week. F, E.
